melle_k It is so refreshingly At The Gates that it's almost impossible to put down. Songwriting is great, feels like a warm (blood)bath or an old jacket. It fits, it's comfy and it ROCKS!!! Favorite track: A Swarm Of Illusions.

Blackxlc Being a fan of Melo-Death since the early 90's this album is incredible! This is the album I needed, dark, crushing, melodic. It goes straight to my AOTY list. Brilliant!!

Dress Code: Blood We come by dawn The last of days When we are gone All is erased Darkening your coasts of gold Sails of black, souls of coal By fear embraced, the end unfolds Pray for oblivion to take hold No one can save you Hero nor god We’re here to enslave you We come in dress code: blood Bathe in blood, thick as oil We take your life as our spoil Our sins cannot be assoiled Damnation, the endless coil No one can save you Hero nor god We’re here to enslave you We come in dress code: blood Our flag ill-famed On your headstone We write our name In the ashes of your bones Hear the wind through the charnel house By its rhythms we are aroused See us now, in blood doused Sell your soul, be our Faust All that is, must be bled Till the land is barren and dead Our destiny is to be fed By every kingdom that lies ahead No one can save you Hero nor god We’re here to enslave you We come in dress code: blood

Onwards To Hell We sinners refuse salvation From the cradle of life Already fueled by thirst and hunger For more and more we must strife Even if it tears our souls asunder War - our depraved art Greed – that rips our soul apart Lust - our deranged muse With only eternity to lose Pride - the supreme creed The weak – on them we feed Hell – triggered by our own hand Now marvel, as gold turns into sand From the cradle of life Already fueled by thirst and hunger For more and more we must strife Even if it tears our souls asunder We sinners refuse salvation Now erased by time, gone astray Creation and destruction are one The sun heralds a new day Our burning world lights the way Orphans of the future, now pray The void silently stares back Onwards to hell There is no way back Nobody to witness the new dawn From the cradle of life Already fueled by thirst and hunger For more and more we must strife Even if it tears our souls asunder Onwards to hell Are you with us?

Like a moth is drawn to the flame Beyond reason, beyond shame Fallen prey to my demon’s guile The moon, as it grows and wanes Dictates the pulses in my veins Leads me, my soul to defile A swarm of illusions into the hive A swarm of confusion blackens the sky Now in the eye of the storm Driven by promises unborn I dread the pain of salvation For I know in daylight These fancies my mind affright So leave me in my desperation A swarm of illusions into the hive A swarm of confusion blackens the sky Fingers grope But cannot find Let me turn blind Now in eye the of the storm Driven by promises unborn Eyes that stare Seeing blind Lies or prayer Empty words I find Empty words I find Empty words I find A swarm of illusions A swarm of illusions Into the hive

All Out War 03:59
ALL OUT WAR March two three four March two three four March two three four March two three four My troops are marching in Rows and rows of discontent Strength through unity and unity through fear? We are not religious men, but forced down on our knees A lie to keep us praying, a lie to make us bow In a heart of smoldering coal, there’s nothing left to burn My own damnation within their walls My own salvation Naked we are not, but draped in failure and greed We don’t worship the emperor, but the emperor’s disease A lie to keep us praying, sermon on life and death Our necks in a salving noose is the only thing we feel My own damnation within their walls My own salvation My own damnation Thy kingdom falls Salvation - recruitment has begun My own damnation within their walls My own damnation Recruitment has begun All out war All out war – like a plague we stalk the land All out war – blessed are the wicked, led by my hand All out war – funeral pyres light the way All out war – to Utopia in ashes gray All out war – into the fray, we live to conquer All out war – paid in blood, we grow stronger All out war – night, take us under your wings All out war – for the dawn again will bring All out war – for the dawn again will bring All out war War War War

Aurora 05:42
Aurora Lost the sense of what is real, I am a child on its knees Something nameless in the dark, lurking, a gruesome disease Aurora – sleep Aurora How can death be calling me? Even I don’t know my own name! The mourning sun is all I see, burning my everlasting flame Aurora – sleep Aurora Am I alive or am I still dead Painless salvation or constant regret The calling of angels or a perverted sun If only I knew that my nightmare had just begun I’m drawing a pentagram with a dagger red of heat Suffering from the burns on my skin, raging, and the veins beneath Aurora – sleep Aurora Am I alive or am I still dead Painless salvation or constant regret The calling of angels or a perverted sun If only I knew that my nightmare had just begun A fire inside, burning A broken mask so grim Entities, dominating when evil creeps in The flames always yearning His pandemonium calls The flesh suffocating when darkness falls Every truth, every death From dusk, the waking hours Every lie, every breath Till dawn, it gently devours It gently devours Aurora Aurora - sleep

Bring Me Her Head Demon bride, demon bride There is no angel, there is no hell hound That will keep your body in the ground Sorrow and sadness, mourning and madness Inspire to necromancy Engraved on her stone, the spells that I moan I have woken… what walks with the night Disciples - ascent from beyond hell Disciples – bring me her head Forged in the fire of night time desire You’ve summoned the dark side in me Rise from the ashes of a funeral pyre I have woken … what is shunned by the light Disciples – my lust must be fed Disciples – bring me her head Raving and chanting I claw the earth Praying and ranting for a second birth For a second birth Demon bride, demon bride Disciples - I send thee on a quest Demon bride, demon bride Disciples – do what you do best Demon bride, demon bride Disciples – my lust must be fed Demon bride, demon bride Bring me her head Demon bride, demon bride Disciples, I send thee on a quest Demon bride, demon bride Disciples, disciples Demon bride, demon bride Do what you do best Demon bride, demon bride Bring me her head

Virgin Whore 04:34
Virgin Whore Where the strong become weak Where the rich become poor Where the proud become meek And the virgin turns to whore Salvation lies in smoke exhaled Veins pump toxin, it never fails The temple fallen, the body turned shrine Every prayer, a torture divine Golden liquor, silver spoon Whatever the poison, guide me to my swoon Comes the night, I master the art To gently cut out my own heart Welcome to hell, I call it home Here I reign, here is my throne Golden liquor, silver spoon Whatever the poison, guide me to my swoon Where the strong become weak Where the rich become poor Where the proud become meek And the virgin turns to whore Whatever the poison … Whatever the poison … Sobriety is heresy Now my flesh, this pale cathedral of lust Stares back from the mirror - broken on the wall Is this stranger all that’s left of what once was? Why have I summoned my own downfall? Now my eyes, the mirrors of a soul forlorn Witness how I again fuel my purgatory Golden liquor, silver spoon Whatever the poison, guide me to my swoon The ultimate self-predatory Warfare Warfare Where the strong become weak Where the rich become poor Where the proud become meek And the virgin turns to whore

The Widow Black Under the light red like wine See her glare, with eyes lupine Fur and claws, a sight divine A pheromone machine, aimed at the spine With eyes lupine Submission, her subtle art From free will, you must part Whispering in tongues of yore Of spells and forgotten lore She commands, I implore Crawling, creeping on all fours Submission, her subtle art From free will, you must part Bewitched by the scorpion on my lips The face that launched a thousand ships Howl my name and shudder Even the darkness has its wonders Off she wanders, the widow black The widow black Behold the queen, behold the concubine The cathedral where lust lies… lies enshrined Let the night be lit my apocalypse Bewitched by the scorpion on my lips The face that launched a thousand ships Howl my name and shudder Even the darkness has its wonders Off she wanders, the widow black The widow black The widow black

about

A dark and evil mood, an infernal drive, and incendiary vocals on top is how MORDKAUL likes to forge their killer songs. The members of this Belgium based band share a mutual passion for melodic death metal, and with the splitting up of their former bands Diablo Blvd and Hell City, they finalized the tracks Tim Bekaert started writing a few years back.In May 2020, MORDKAUL’s debut album Dress Code: Blood was recorded by Tommy Goffin (ex-Hell City) vocals, Tim Bekaert (ex-Diablo Blvd, ex-A Brand), Vincent Noben (ex-Hell City) guitars and Adrian Erlandsson (At The Gates, The Haunted,...) drums. Mixing and mastering is done by Dan Swano. Soon after, Jan Rammeloo (ex-Bliksem, Furia, Your Highness) and Tony Van den Eynde (ex-Leng Tch’e) joined forces.
